Laura Tyrrell, Counsellor, (MBACP, MA, PGCE, BSc)

I am an experienced practitioner conveniently situated five minutes walking distance from Central Bath.  I work with adults and young people (16+) exploring issues and concerns that may be inhibiting personal wellbeing or fulfilment.  In working together my aim is to build a meaningful therapeutic relationship that can nurture and empower you towards greater self-knowledge and awareness.

How I work as a Counsellor

I am an integrative counsellor, experienced in using a range of therapeutic modalities which include; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness based techniques. At the core of my practice, is a person-centred approach. Reflection is a valuable aspect of the therapeutic process and I include regular reviews to ensure our working together is meeting your individual needs.

Professional membership

I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by the BACP’s Ethical Framework.


Face to face sessions take place at Widcombe Therapy Room, The Studio, 4 Millbrook Place, Widcombe, Bath, BA2 4JY. Widcombe Therapy Room is set back a little from the main High Street of Widcombe village.  Online counselling sessions are available, following a minimum of six face to face sessions.


The fee for each 50-minute appointment is £45. Some concessions available.


I am available for face to face sessions: Monday afternoons, Tuesday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings.  Online sessions are available on Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday mornings.
